Success at the Federation of Master Builders Awards!

Three Pines Building Co Ltd attended the Master Builders awards on Friday 21st June 2019 and has scooped a prestigious Master Builder Award, taking the prize for best New Home in the Federation of Master Builders’ (FMB) Midlands Region awards.

Since 1999, the Master Builder Awards has been a flagship for high-quality building work, showcasing examples of fantastic craftsmanship, exceptional customer service and building excellence. Organised by the FMB, the awards programme is unique in that any project entered by the builder must be backed up by the customer – giving clients the opportunity to support those building companies that have delivered exceptional results. The awards programme recognises the hard work and contribution that small and medium-sized (SME) construction firms make to the UK construction industry.

Three Pines Building Co Ltd collected the prize for the delivery of 16 new build homes ranging from two bed terraced houses to five bed detached properties. The aim was to make each house unique with large landscaped gardens built on unused land that was once a chicken farm. All properties were sold before completion, with even the designing architect purchasing one of the finished homes. Judges praised the company for a very prestigious well-constructed development calling the firm a ‘credit to the FMB.’

Three Pines Building Co Ltd was selected by the judges to win the Midlands Region Award, which was presented at the FMB South West, Midlands and Eastern Master Builder Awards Gala Dinner, at the Hilton Double Tree, Stratford-upon-Avon on 21st June. Three Pines will now go through to compete in the national finals for the chance to win the UK category title. The national ceremony will be held at the InterContinental Hotel, Park Lane, London on 20th September.

John Watson, FMB Central Director, said: “The Master Builder Awards give the FMB the opportunity to celebrate a job well done and for clients to say thank you to their builders. For the construction industry, it is an opportunity to celebrate all that is good about small local building firms and their contribution to the UK economy.

“Time and time again, we have been impressed with just how far these builders will go to ensure their client is happy. It is this dedication that we want to celebrate. Three Pines Building Co Ltd should feel justly proud of their achievement in winning and we wish the firm every success in the national competition.”

Apprentice Award

Three Pines are delighted to announce that employee Samuel Wells has been named Midlands Region Apprentice of the Year in the Federation of Master Builders’ (FMB) Master Builder Awards 2019. As part of the Master Builder Awards the FMB carries out a nationwide search to find the building industry’s best apprentices.

Sam collected the prize for best apprentice for showing exceptional character in all aspects of his work and studies. He demonstrated his full ability recently when he worked tirelessly on a new development of 17 houses. Tasked with making sure all specialist trades, labour and the right materials were organised and onsite when required, Sam had to work mostly under his own initiative. He had to negotiate with all suppliers, seeking the best prices and was able to make considerable increases on the original profit margins for the project without sacrificing the quality of work on site; he also took into consideration all aspects of health, safety & environmental restrictions. Judges praised Sam stating he is a great example of the value of the apprenticeship route into our industry.

The best in the FMB Midlands Region will now go up against other winning apprentices from around the UK with a chance to claim the coveted national Apprentice 2019 crown. The national ceremony will be held at the InterContinental Park Lane Hotel in London on 20th September.

John Watson, FMB Central Director, said, “This is a great opportunity for the FMB to reward the talented apprentices on which the UK construction industry will rely in the years to come. This award is a testament to their hard work and enthusiasm in their chosen occupation. Sam is a shining example of how commitment, dedication and determination can achieve results and we wish him luck in the national final.”
